Similar to the landscape panoramas depicted on the CD cover, the compositions on this captivating and diverse double CD edition transport the listener to various soundscapes around the globe. From the Old World of Europe, through the regions of Asia, and over to the New World of South America.

Composers like Piazzolla, Albéniz, Granados, Moreno-Torroba, Ponce, Tarrega, Malats, Anido, and Llobet, as well as Barrios, Lauro, Cardoso, Yokoo, Tansman, Schneider, and Dowland, capture the beauty and uniqueness of their native countries in musical landscapes, character pieces, and tone poems.

The Aachen-based guitarist and composer Thomas Jakob Schneider brings together enchanting impressions of 20th-century guitar music on this nearly hundred-minute double CD. Folk-inspired tunes and dances from Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela, Mexico, and Spain are richly contrasted with exotic sounds from Japan, lullabies and laments from Austria and Poland, and the sensitive lute compositions of England.

The technically skilled yet highly emotional performance of Austrian Thomas Jakob Schneider, combined with the well-balanced, warm guitar sound recorded live in the concert hall, was captured and produced as a “Live Recording @ Concert Hall” by KingSizeStudios Aachen under the excellent direction of their sound engineer Josef Schneider.
